Gareth Southgate’s side finished having scored a whopping 39 goals and conceded just three in 10 matches.
England are now third favourites to win the World Cup, narrowly behind France and Brazil in Betfair’s outright winner market.
With qualification done and dusted, attentions have turned to who will line up in England’s first match of the tournament, which begins November 21, 2022.
SunSport take a closer look at the most likely starting XI, according to odds supplied by Betfair.
Jordan Pickford (4/11) is the clear favourite to start between the sticks for England.
The Everton goalkeeper, 27, is currently the undisputed number one under Southgate and shone during the World Cup and European Championships.
However, Aaron Ramsdale (5/2) has been exceptional since making the switch to Arsenal and received his first senior cap against San Marino.
Nick Pope is available at 5/1, while Manchester United’s Dean Henderson (14/1) has drifted markedly having been unable to displace David de Gea.
Harry Maguire and John Stones look the nailed-on partnership in central defence at 2/5 and 4/9 respectively. Betfair think they’ll be flanked by Luke Shaw (4/5) and Reece James (11/10).
Kyle Walker is the next most likely at 6/4, although his inclusion is likely to hinge on whether England field a back four or five in Qatar.
Ben Chilwell and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who have been immense at their respective clubs, are a distant 7/4 and 10/3 to make the starting XI.
It looks as though the England’s midfielders will be vying for one spot with Declan Rice (1/2) and Mason Mount (4/7) odds-on to start.
Leeds’ Kalvin Phillips (6/5) was named England’s men’s player of the year for his displays at Euro 2020 – but he’s now trailing Jude Bellingham (11/10) in the betting market.
Emile Smith Rowe is available at 3/1 with Jesse Lingard (15/2), Conor Gallagher (9/1) and James Ward-Prowse (14/1) further behind.
