Summary List Placement
For many, oven-cleaning is possibly one of the most tedious household chores there is.
It takes time and patience to do it correctly, to ensure there are no traces of food or dirt inside.
Considering that you’re going to be cooking your food in it, naturally, you have to ensure it’s kept clean and free of germs, which means you need to clean it thoroughly and frequently.
Not everyone, however, is willing or able to dedicate enough time to chores like oven-cleaning — most can’t afford a housekeeper to carry out these everyday chores properly and many simply don’t have the necessary materials and knowledge to carry out a proper and thorough clean.
When you don’t have assistance, it can be handy to have a few hacks up your sleeve to get the cleaning done quickly, easily, and — above all — efficiently.
Once you’re armed with a few key pieces of information, the task will be much easier and you won’t have to invest as much time in it.
Check your kitchen cupboard
The first thing to remember is that, often, you can clean your oven with a series of household ingredients.
Not only do methods using these ingredients ease and speed up the job, they mean you don’t need to invest money in tons of cleaning products.
All you need to do is mix equal parts of baking soda and water in a bowl, then add a splash of vinegar.
You can then apply this solution to the dirt that has built up in your appliance.
Be careful when cleaning
One thing to be careful of is not to fall into the classic mistake of rubbing too hard — it’s best to leave the mixture as long as possible on the areas where grease, food, and other dirt has accumulated.
Once you’ve spread the homemade product on your appliance, you can put a dish filled with water into your oven and switch it on, setting it to around 215 degrees Fahrenheit for around 45 minutes.
Once the dish has been inside for this period of time, it’ll be a lot easier to lift the dirt.
