To the surprise of many, Carragher stated that Haaland would be ‘making his debut’.

He tweeted out a clip of the Norway international’s strike against Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Captioning the post, he said: “Delighted this man Erling Haaland will make his debut on #MNF tonight!”

Fans were quick to comment, as one user messaged: “Bit out of the blue he doesn’t have anything to do with Arsenal or Everton does he?”

Another quipped: “One of the best players in the world comes to the studio, our chance to turn his head towards the Prem… and Sky make him watch Everton v Arsenal.”

A third added: “How many minutes in are you gonna ask him about moving to Man Utd?”

Meanwhile one stated: “Ask him if he wants to sign for Manchester City.”

One then told Jamie: “Get him to Liverpool Carra.”

It was later revealed, however, that Carragher was only fooling around – and that he would merely be analysing the Norwegian’s performance against Bayern Munich from the weekend.

Haaland, who has banged in 15 goals in all competitions for BVB this season, is available for £64million due to a release clause in his contract.

Is is understood that the former Red Bull Salzburg ace is being targeted by NINE clubs in 2022.

Despite his relatively low transfer fee, potential suitors have been warned any deal could cost as much as £250m after wages and agent fees.

As for tonight’s action, Toffees boss Rafa Benitez is the next favourite to get sacked with the Merseyside outfit sitting 16th in the Premier League table after three consecutive defeats.

Meanwhile the Gunners have slipped down to seventh following their 3-2 defeat against Manchester United last time out.
