The England international, 28, is out of contract in June and will be free to leave Old Trafford.

He snubbed an extension back in September and barely figured in Solskjaer’s plans.

Rather than lose him for nothing, United were believed to be prepared to accept a cut-price £10m bid from West Ham for the ace in January.

However, Solskjaer’s departure has opened the door for several United stars to re-galvanise their careers with the Red Devils.

Donny van de Beek, Diogo Dalot and Anthony Martial are all believed to have fresh hope after the Norwegian’s exit.

But the Daily Mail claims that Lingard has no interest in being one of them.

They claim the England star is ‘unmoved’ by the managerial change and still has no plans to open up negotiations over a new contract.

Lingard enjoyed a successful loan spell at the high flying West Ham in the second half of last season.

His nine goals and five assists in the Premier League helped propel David Moyes side into Europe.

Moyes wanted to sign Lingard permanently in the summer but said he couldn’t as Solskjaer wanted him back.

Now he could finally get his man in just a matter of weeks when the transfer window re-opens for business.
