MAURICIO POCHETTINO remains favourite for the Manchester United.
That’s according to bookmakers Betfair, who’ve altered their betting market after a flurry of activity over the last 24 hours.

Yesterday, Pochettino’s odds dropped markedly to 1/5 having been 3/1 soon after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure.
That price has now drifted out to 8/5 after the Argentine declared himself “happy” at Paris Saint-Germain.
He told reporters: “The rumours are there, but that kind of thing cannot distract me. I am so happy at Paris Saint-Germain.
“I love the club, I love the fans – it is a fantastic time to be at the club. My contract is to 2023 – this season and one more.
“I am really happy at PSG – that is a fact.”
The French heavyweights are 11 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 after 14 games and look certain to progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Furthermore, the MEN claim that United have had their initial enquiry to appoint Pochettino as their new manager knocked back by PSG.
Man Utd next manager
- Mauricio Pochettino – 8/5
- Ernesto Valverde – 4/1
- Michael Carrick – 6/1
- Ralf Rangnick – 15/2
- Rudi Garcia – 10/1
- Brendan Rodgers – 12/1
- Erik ten Hag – 14/1
- Diego Simeone – 17/1
- Luis Enrique – 33/1
- Zinedine Zidane – 33/1
- Laurent Blanc – 40/1
- Steve Bruce – 50/1
The news will come as a blow to the United hierarchy, who are known admirers of the 49-year-old.
They had been offered a glimmer of hope when reports claimed that Pochettino was ‘open’ to a sensational return to English football.
The former Tottenham and Southampton chief is thought to have grown frustrated with his lack of influence over transfers and other footballing issues at Parc des Princes.
He’s also living in a Paris hotel while his family remain in London.
Spanish newspaper Marca claim that there’s a growing belief amongst PSG’s players that Zinedine Zidane could take charge in the near future.
United officials would have to stump up a whopping £10million in compensation to lure Pochettino back to the English top flight.
Elsewhere Ernesto Valverde has flown into contention at odds of 4/1.
The Red Devils have contacted the former Barcelona boss, who is one of a handful of potential candidates under consideration to take charge until the end of the season.
Elsewhere caretaker Michael Carrick has drifted from 4/1 to 6/1, while previous odds-on favourite Brendan Rodgers is now priced at 12/1.
