Look at me….. I am awesomeFirst off let me say, these things are huge….. huge….. huge….. I mean its like somebody at Oakley said hey ski goggles are awesome, is there anyway we can make ski goggle style sun glasses….. and some dude drew up these giants face shields….. thus the birth of the Jawbreaker.1) Extremely Light and flexible – Yes there huge, but this babies are light. Now I have seen other reviews which comment on the cheapness feeling of the frame and generally the plastic. After opening the package and feeling the shades I can see why some may experience this feeling. The arms have all these sharp corners and cuts (oakley making a move from there smooth curves we see on the radar line) and really are thin considering the size of the lens. When I first picked them up the arms almost felt too skinny and they flex like hell. I was like, “yeah it feels like a cheap imitation Transformer you buy at a Dollar store.” But then I put them on and they felt great. Yes they feel cheap, but what you give up in feel and look, you get in performance. They are light and the flexibility in the legs are welcomed on the sides of your head. In my opinion this was deliberate move on Oakley’s part. Here they are making huge face shields for people who are looking for performance sport wear and they are like “Man we need to cut out as much plastic as we can to make this baby as light as possible” Sure they could have made them out of a really expensive material that is basically impossible to break and light at the same time…. like hmmmmm…. I don’t know carbon fiber…. but then you would have a pair of shades wrapped around your head with about as much give as a bear trap. Again I don’t disagree with the feeling of cheapness…. but I believe the benefit of weight and flexibility outweighs the “feeling.”2 – Field of vision – The jawbreakers only positive in my opinion over the radar is in the aero position on a bike or even drop bars you have a clear forward view with no obstruction from the top of the frames. However, when running with the shades you can definitely see both the bottom of the frame and sides of the frames in your field of vision, unlike the radar which has no bottom frame or side frame. For those of us who spend a considerable amount time in aero or drop these definitely give you a great view.3 – Optics – Perfect. I did not notice any weird reflections or distortion. Pretty much what you can expect from Oakley as far as clarity and function.4 – Style – I will say it again, these things are huge. They are not for the guy or girl who wants to be subtle. No these things scream look at me, I’m awesome and I know it. Don’t get me wrong there is a time and place for everything, but these things only belong in a few places. These are not the type of shades you wear on the weekend to the beach, or out on the boat, at disney world, or hanging out at a BBQ. No, honestly if you wear these things anywhere other then a sporting event in which you are actually performing in…. well…. your just trying too hard. These things are design to worn on a bike, competing in a triathlon, training rides, running on the beach, completing in a 5k, 10k, marathon….. and trust me…. they make you look awesome. Look maybe you don’t have that athletic look or that intimidating face that says, am going to crush this ride, race, training session, etc……. when you put these on, no matter how baby your face is….. you look mean and serious. All and all I was extremely pleased with them. Oakley did not disappoint. Now if only they would make a shawn white version with the 24k lens….. baller!!!!

I LIKE THEMOAKLEY JAWBREAKER PRISM (8/30/2021)-Ok, I received the sunglasses. I read the critics listed here as well prior to purchasing. I have previous Oakley brands with the lenses now “bubbling. They are at least 5-6 years old. Went for an immediate 20 mile ride.1). The prism lenses are clear, but not very dark if you are going directly into the sun. I happened to be traveling west into the late day sun, and its bright. At sunset they are dark but not too much.2). The adjustable ear pieces extend nicely about 1 cm and I found they did not slip off my face an they felt comfortable.3). Sweat did not seem to get on the lenses themselves, although I had a bicycle cap on.4). Nose piece is comfortable.5). Compared to my other Oakley’s I did not feel the frame was in my FOV(field of view). Just the opposite, they were the perfect size top, bottom and side views. No obstructions.6). The only issue w/ plastic lenses is they SCRATCH! Even with the cloth they give you. My advice, DONT use anything other than soap and water in your hand and blow dry.7). No fogging on the ride. We will wait till cooler weather to assess that characteristic.8). I did NOT attempt to adjust the angle of the lenses, which is possible as well. Seems they are large enough for my face that I did NOT need to adjust. I am very happy with the size(131mm).

AWESOME GLASSES!!!! LOVE THEM!!!I saw these glasses & JUST HAD TO HAVE ‘EM!!!The nose piece is a little difficult to change, but that’s OK because there’s no reason to continually swap them out. The lens change is the EASIEST I have ever had with a set of Oakley’s. The feel of the frames is absolutely unexpected and the weight, initially, gives a feeling of weak/cheap. BUT, that initial impression quickly fades when you adjust the ear pieces and slip them on for their maiden voyage. The frames are EXTREMELY light for the size… they actually feel lighter than the Half Jackets I sold to get these. Even after wearing for an extended period, the frames are not at all uncomfortable. If fact, it’s quite the opposite. You will get so used to the, that you forget you’re wearing them. Yes, they are that comfortable. Even the way the ear pieces wrap around slightly, they still are very comfortable over the ears. Just be prepared, these glasses are HUGE… an I mean MASSIVE!!! If you’re like me & LOVE the old Mumbo and pre- “M”-frame type glasses, these will be the glasses that you’ll absolutely want. With a clear, unobstructed field of vision & shaded peripheral vision from the futuristic Oakley “O”, these glasses look like they’re about to either “transform & roll out” or have a light-cycle form around them on the game grid. They absolutely look like a cross between a Transformer & something from Tron. The vented lens even adds to the overall futuristic feel. You will almost have a feeling like: Doc Brown, “Roads? Where we’re going we don’t need.. roads.” Then all of a sudden, flip down the glasses and hear, “you got the touch… you got the power” as you lunge forward and take off at breakneck speed leaving a trail of light behind. If you’ve got the cash to drop on these glasses, they are WONDERFUL. I don’t have the regrets that sometimes follow a big purchase like this. But given I know how long a pair of Oakley’s will last me… this is one purchase that has me sleeping like Ralphie after getting the “Official Red Ryder Range Model Air-Rifle” But in my dreams I’m busting off hip shots like Cyclops from X-Men.
