A FEMALE judge is under investigation after she was caught on CCTV kissing a convicted cop-killer who she tried to save from a life sentence.
Mariel Suarez, from the city of Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina, was filmed snogging Christian Mai Bustos in jail near the city of Trelew last Wednesday.
A week earlier, she had sat on a panel of judges as they ruled whether the convicted criminal should face life in jail for the murder of cop Leandro ‘Tito’ Roberts in 2009.
According to local reports, Suarez was the only judge to vote in favour of a reduced sentence, despite warnings from the Superior Court of Justice that the prisoner was a “highly dangerous criminal.”
And her efforts were eventually in vain, as Bustos was handed a whole-life sentence that began last week.
Now Suarez is being probed by the Superior Court of Chubut for “inadequate behaviour” after her intimate moment with the convicted murderer emerged.
Bustos had previously stood trial over the death of police officer Leandro Roberts, who was fatally shot in nearby Corcovado.
A brother of the convicted man also died in the gunfight as Roberts attempted to arrest the convict for an earlier prison break.

During trial Bustos admitted his guilt and was convicted of homicide and given a life sentence.
On his latest incident, involving judge Suarez, Superior Court of Chubut said in a statement: ”The judge allegedly incurred in inadequate behaviour.
“The investigation will seek to determine the circumstances of the meeting between that judge and an inmate who is regarded as highly dangerous and was recently convicted following a trial in the city of Esquel.
“It will also look at how long the meeting lasted and its characteristics, with a view to confirming whether there have been violations of the Law of Public Ethics and internal judicial authority regulations.”
Suarez, who could face possible sanctions, has yet to comment on the matter.
