Although both City and PSG are dominant in their respective leagues, Champions League success continues to elude the pair.

In contrast, the 69-year-old’s former side Bayern have won the coveted European prize on multiple occasions – spending a fraction of what City and PSG have.

The Bundesliga champions defeated PSG to lift the trophy in 2020, a feat that Hoeness reckons will happen again in future.

And he admitted the thought of beating both sides to be crowned the best in the continent keeps him going.

While on the 11 Leben podcast, he raged: “City and PSG have won absolutely nothing yet – nothing at all.

“The two clubs don’t have a single Champions League title between the pair of them.

“That shows that their sh***y money is not enough. The idea of us beating them drives me on.

“These teams will continue to lose against us in the future. Not always, but sometimes.

“And when we beat them, I’m going to celebrate like a wild animal.”

But Hoeness, who is now Bayern’s life president after spending half a century at the club as a player and general manager, wasn’t done there and aimed a personal attack towards PSG’s Qatari chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Hoeness, who’s also spent time in jail for tax evasion, claimed that although the pair are both well off, he had to work for his fortune while Khelaifi’s wealth was handed to him.

And he also suggested that the PSG supremo gets help from his native country’s chief if he wants to buy a player.

The retired West Germany striker ranted: “The difference between him and me is that I’ve worked hard for my money and he’s had his given to him.

“When he wants to sign a player, he just calls on the Emir of his country.”
